Shedfield Pétanque Club
The Friendly Club
Shedfield Pétanque Club is a friendly boules club in Hampshire, we are possibly the oldest club in the south of England, our club started playing in the early 70s, even before the birth of the British Petanque Association the forerunner of Pétanque England.
Some of our members play just for fun, fresh air and exercise, while others like to compete more seriously in local leagues, regional competitions and even national competitions. Some of our members are also members of the Southern Counties Pétanque Association (SCPA) and Pétanque England.
We have a purpose-built terrain, 14m x 24m and floodlit for evening play.
We welcome visitors and guests at our regular Friday evening club nights from 7:00pm, to about 10pm. and Sunday from 10am to 1pm.
New players are always welcome.
We can be found on the recreation ground to the north of Upper Church Road Shedfield, and just west of the Scout hut. Upper Church Road is the extension of Church road East of the B2177 in Shedfield.
Easiest access is to travel East from the B2177 passing Sams Hotel on the right and about 50 yards after turn left onto the recreation ground, follow the track and you can't miss the terrain.

On a recent bright Sunday morning, good use was made of the bench dedicated to the memory of Wendy and Lou Watkins. For those that do not know, Wendy and Lou were founder members of Shedfield Petanque Club, and the bench was funded by their children Wendy and Nick.
Seated in the centre of the photograph is Jenny with her husband Craig seated to her right.
The remainder of the people are some of the Club members taking a break from a hard morning of playing petanque!
